It promptly got nerfed which sucks for the people who spent that 1-2.2b it was around that time.ĭon't get me wrong, shit like soa is INSANELY broken. Magma for example got nerfed because it did more than a threshold by a longshot + gave an insane amount of adren. Nerfs are relatively rare unless something is just insanely broken. Stop waiting for jagex to "fix" melee, don't let whole swaths of content be out of your reach because you are stubborn. I guess the reason I'm making this post is to try to help other people like me. The amount of effort and switches I'd put in with melee is insane compared to how effortless magic feels. Legit every boss is easier now, potentially faster.Īll kinds of afk strats and meta dps rotations, I can do all of it after practicing with some fancy toys for just an hour or so. Holy shit it's like the whole game opened up to me. I bought for cryptbloom, fsoa, the works. I don't even use magic, my rotations were awful and I didn't have any switches. So some budget ass magic gear breezed me through kills my multi billion in max melee gear couldn't get me through. So I went in my half ass magic gear, I was able to beat both flawless zuk and zammy first try after legit hours of melee attempts. I'm not saying it was a challenge, I'm saying after multiple attempts i knew it was possible but was so overwhelming complicated compared to the guides I was seeing for magic and range. Using my above average melee knowledge and top tier gear, I have an unbelievably hard time doing content like zuk and ed4. I have maxed melee gear and I'm not good by and stretch of the imagination but I have sub :44, 1:20, and 3:30 kill times at the ed2 bosses, and can do stuff like top path rax skip. Let's start by saying I previously only used melee.
